This landscape painting took quite a long time to paint as like some others from this period it wnt trhough various transformations. Based initially on a dream, I realised where the dream had come from, I had yet again been influenced by the ancient trees at Clava Cairns in Inverness. Details of this painting and the process which i went through to create it can be found in the art blog. It initially was more of a surrealist fantasy canvas, but as I returned to work on the painting, it gradually transformed itself into something altogether more realistic.
This was one of the first larger scale, square paintings which gives the feeling of being able to walk into and I think I would like to take the idea of perspective in nature further. This painting formed a part of the ArtDeCaf (now Braewell Galleries) solo exhibition in 2009 and was one of two landscapes in a mainly figurative based show.
