Painting this artwork was quite an event as it went through several stages of development and I found myself terrified of overworking it.
Many artists don’t know when to stop sometimes and I am certainly no exception. In saying that, it was a painting which I really looked forward to getting in to the studio to work on each day and after I was happy with the basic anatomy, it was a fantastic piece to add to and create the contrast between the figure and the background.
The lighting in this male figurative painting was a key element and also changed throughout.
