Cliche’s about the eyes being the “window to the soul” are of course true. I only learned recently that the eyes are a part of the brain.
This painting was created in oil and I wanted to take it much further by refining it more but I had so much positive feedback from people who viewed it in the studio that I decided to leave it at this point and call it completed.
There is also something about painting an eye much larger than life scale which gives it an entirely new feeling. Depending on the way it is painted, it could have a “big brother” feeling but I feel that this eye painting is much more gentle than that.
