Pencil art is a bit of a departure for me. Mostly my days at the studio are spent spattering paint over reasonably large sized canvases. Recently however, I have taken to sitting quietly at desk listening to Radio 4 with a pencil and a drawing pad in my hand.
I have always been interested in sketching and a certain type of drawing but I created les and less pencil drawings as the years have passed by. I feel that it is a time to perhaps revisit this and this piece of pencil art, “Inner Space” is one of the first drawing such as this I have created in quite a while.
Being fascinated by faces, this pencil art is obviously quite contemplative and almost reflects the process of drawing itself. It is, of course about so much more and I hope that it finds meaning with each person who views it.
It may also become a large scale painting in due course.
Dimensions – approx 10 x 10 inches on paper, excluding frame.
