One Tree Hill is an original oil painting on canvas covered board and was created using various brushes which I would not normally use for landscape paintings to give some different brush marks.
I wanted this oil painting to be semi-realistic and also played around with the proportions and clolour palette. This artwork is probably quite different also from my other landscape paintings not just in the manner in which I approaced it but also from the resulting image.
The painting is based on an imaginary scene but is reminiscent of woodland and field areas I frequented as a child.
