Debbie Harry Drawings
Debbie Harry Drawings – In The Flesh
Debbie Harry drawings and paintings pop up un my folio of art peiodically. Why? Mainly because I love Debbie Harry and Blondie but I also find Debbie’s face completely mesmerising.
I think, also that many of us remember they heyday of Blondie and there is always a nostalgia factor where the band are concerned. In saying that, I keep myself up to date and bought A Panic Of Girls as soon as it was released so I am not entirely stuck in the past.
At the time of drawing this Debbie Harry original I have been experimenting with charcoal, graphite and carbon. I have always been interested in celebrity culture where real talent is involved and have recently been using this interest to find new ways of drawing, using shots that appeal to me of some of my favourite artists.
As I have said elsewhere on this website and in my blog, painting and drawing feel completely different when you are actually in the process of creating. At the time of writing I have been drawing solidly for two months and have hardly painted at all. Whilst working on this drawing, I obviously want to create a likeness but I am also trying to put a Joe Hendry feel to the artwork and do justice to the iconic face of Debbie Harry.
