Man In The Moon- Male Figurative Art
Man In The Moon is a further progression in the series of figurative graphite art which I have been working on .
As this series has developed I have experimented with textures and tones in addition to the manner in which the medium is applied. I have also been experimenting eith paper surfaces and the differing effects which can be achieved.
I wanted not to over complicate this drawing. I wanted it to be simple and let the tonal values create the atmosphere. The subject matter also creates the atmosphere too.
The moon has intrigued me for some time. Not in an astrological way but with regard to astronomy. This artwork is about reflecting on thinggs that matter to us and seeing them in a different light.
