  • 2.03.2010 • M.E. and Art
  • In the past few years, the press have published articles which have discussed the fact that I was diagnosed with M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) or C.F.S. (chronic fatigue syndrome). Sometimes these articles have made for grim reading. It was also mentioned in a press release by Glasgow’s Park Gallery. At the time of writing this, February 2010, I feel that I am finally unafraid to write the whole story for those of you who are interested.

  • 9.02.2010 • Buying Art
  • There are many pages on the internet giving advice on buying art. My own personal opinion is go with your heart! You can read what other people think (including me) forever but in the end, if you like something then it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

  • 12.02.2010 • Simon Cowell Naked
  • I have donated the painting “Simon Says” to the Strep B support group. This artwork was painted in a similar vein to the Andy Murray painting as a bit of light relief although I wanted to take the idea further and work on a painting which was reasonably realistic. THe idea came after watching the “Faces Of Disco” act. Adrian Grove is raising funds following the death of his baby son, Cayden.

  • 5.02.2010 • Park Gallery Painting Demo
  • It is always a concern that no-one will attend these events and I have to say a HUGE heart-felt thank you to everyone who turned up and stayed for 3 plus hours. A huge thank you to everyone at Park Gallery for yet again hosting a fantastic event which somehow managed to be both exciting and relaxing at the same time:if you were there I am sure you will understand!

    PRESS RELEASE

    Artist Joe Hendry
    Lives His Dream

Artist Joe Hendry is currently riding on the crest of a wave as his Living the Dream exhibition, his first major solo event, is being hosted atPark Gallery on Glasgows Southside with a Preview Launch on Thursday 10th May 2007 and continuing until 25thMay 2007

‘Living The Dream’ has captured Joe’s emotion and enthusiasm with the reality that he is achieving tremendous success as a professional artist from one of his earliest interests as a child.

Joe was born in East Kilbride in 1966. His parents, who had moved from Glasgow to East Kilbride New Town in 1954, kept him amused through a childhood illness by buying him paints and colouring books which Joe claims was one of the inspirational memories of growing up and loving art.

  • 12.02.2010 • Andy Murray & Tennis Girl
  • I decided to lighten up a tad and painted this Andy Murray tribute, based on photographer Martin Elliot’s “Tennis Girl” from the 70’s. Little did I know that the artwork would feature in the national press and be mentioned by Radio 1’s Jo Wiley on her lunchtime show, crashing my server.
