Artists Biography – Joe Hendry

 

 

Artist Joe Hendry began his professional life as an interior designer, having studied design in Glasgow for four years in the late eighties. Following a successful career in corporate interiors, Joe decided to concentrate on what he really loved and began painting full time in January 2005.

Since 2005 there have been many successes. Joe’s work was picked up early by a New York gallery curator and a buyer for Warner Brothers Studios. Interest of this nature has continued with Sony Pictures Television choosing Joe Hendry artwork to dress the set of the series Franklin & Bash in 2013.

2005 also saw a contract being signed with Chaucer Press and Joe’s artwork  “To Kiss Marilyn” not only appeared the homage to Marilyn Monroe by Roger Taylor entitled Marilyn In Art , but was chosen to promote the book pre- release. In August 2007, three Joe Hendry original paintings appeared in Mem Mehmet’s book Diana In Art which has been released internationally

In addition to exhibiting work in the Glasgow area and Edinburgh, Joe Hendry artwork has also been shown throughout the UK, in the “Germans In Mind” exhibition in Chicago, USA and in 2009 as part of the finalists exhibition in the Annual Lauderdale House Art Exhibition in London.

Meandering through different styles and methods, Joe now concentrates mainly on figurative pieces in oil and acrylic. Landscape painting has also entered his portfolio of work in recent years.
