DIANA IN ART

2007 saw the publication of “ Diana In Art” by Mem Mehmet. I am thrilled to have been invited to take part in this new book.

The book is an outstanding tribute to diana and in addition to art by Andy Warhol, the book also includes paintings by Susan Goulet, the jacket artist, Rob Surette (TV's 'Fastest Portrait Painter in the World'), Andrea Saltzman, Ralph Wolfe Cowan (whose portrait of Elvis hangs in Graceland), and Dr T F Chen, the head of the Art for Humanity Foundation in New York.

There are conspiracy theories about Princess Diana. I wish I knew the answer but all I do know is that she was a truly beautiful woman who transformed from a shy girl to a fantastic ambassador for Britain. One of the best we have ever had. Diana had what Marilyn Monroe had, that “familiarity” aspect to her personality.

It was a pleasure to work with Mem and for all of you who have been asking, here are the paintings.

MARILYN IN ART

The appearance in Diana In Art, follows on from my appearance in 2006 in Marilyn In Art by Mem Mehmet’s stable mate, Roger Taylor.

This book is a treasured possession of mine. My painting, “To Kiss Marilyn” is image 50 in the book and I am flattered to be exhibited amongst some truly talented international artists. This work marked a stage early in my painting career when I stopped painting so “literally’ and I am grateful that both Roger Taylor and Mem Mehmet have recognised something in my ever developing art and included it in their publications.

I hope you enjoy....
