This painting of a lone tree standing amongst long grass has been painted with various brush styles and strokes in addition to using the palette knife.

This artwork is part of a series of Scottish Landscape paintings where using feelings as well as paint and painting tools has been uppermost. Previously, painting artwork was mainly, but not entirely a more technical excercise as I would try to achieve an accurate representation. Here, whilst accuracy is still of some importance, the overall atmospherics of the artwork is what this series of paintings are all about.
