MALE ART
I approach male art slightly differently to the way in which I approach female studies and I have also noticed the way in which I have painted these pieces has changed in recent months. I find that there is an opportunity to be rougher with brush strokes and painting when producing these artworks. Some of the models here are friends and some are people whom I have bumped into in the real world and online.
The Kilt Art has really captured everyone’s interest and these are developing into a series.
“The Answer Is” is now available as my first limited edition print. Full details are in the Art Prints page.
OIL OR ACRYLIC
I have painted male subjects in both oil and acrylic paint and the difference is striking. Oil is a much slower method for me whilst the way in which I paint male subjects in acrylic is much more energetic. This is not the way I am with other subject: cityscapes for example which I tend to paint in oil in quite an energetic manner.
WHAT’S IN A NAME ?
When I see the search terms that people type into Goole to find art it amuses me. Male art is one but people have found me using male nude and gay art as well as other terms. It’s all one, as they say and I hope I continue to develop new ideas as I continue painting male subjects.
I am also hoping to add more art work to this section over the coming months so please check back.
