MALE ICONIC ART

Marc Bolan, Bryan Ferry and Elvis Presley are but a few of the male pieces that I have painted. I am painting more in the new style which is developing and I hope to add more artwork here soon .

I don’t paint just as many male portraits as I do female. Male art is interesting in it’s own way and I think that I do paint these subjects with a slightly harder edge. The Marilyn Manson piece was the first pastel which I had worked on in some time. It is quite a therapeutic way to paint, or draw as the case may be and the blending and colours which can be achieved really do seem to be unique to working with pastels. There is also something about the way in which you paint, having to touch the canvas directly with the fingers which makes it so different from other methods of painting or drawing.

The Louis Armstrong art was painted as part of my developing a new painting style in early 2007.
