MARILYN MONROE ART

I first produced Marilyn Monroe artwork in 2005. I have painted Marilyn in both oil and acrylic and in a variety of styles as my mood takes me.

I was, at first slightly hesitant to paint Icon art because there was (is) a certain amount of art snobbery surrounding the subject. I didn’t let this stop me for long however and created the first portrait.

With instantly recogniseable features, Marilyn had a natural beauty that most of today’s models and actresses simply can’t match.

In 2005, my art, “To Kiss Marilyn” was included in Roger Taylor’s wonderful book, “Marilyn In Art”. My painting was also turned into a postcard to promote the book before it’s launch.

Marilyn Monroe is an iconic face who I will make no apologies for painting and I hope to revisit, developing my ideas as time goes on.
