NEW EXHIBITIONS

I will be taking part in the Park Gallery Christmas Exhibition. Preview weekend 1st & 2nd December 2007 .Exhibition continues until 16th December. Artists taking part are:-

Joe Hendry, William Dobbie, John Damari, Jeff McDonald. Lesley Anderson and Glass Artist Margaret Mariotti

I will also be taking part in the WASPS pre Christmas event at the WASPS studios in Hanson Street, Glasgow on the second weekend in December.

Diana In Art, the book by Mem Mehmet has now been released and is available from Amazon and any decent book stores.

I have recently been accepted by Gallery 23 in Glasgow and may be included in a forthcoming exhibition. Watch this space!

I have just been informed today that that Mem Mehmet’s book, Diana In Art will now have a UK release on 17th August 2007. The book features three Joe Hendry paintings.

I currently have a piece of art on display at the Aspect Exhibition in Paisley art gallery. The piece “Looking North” has sold but the exhibition is well worth visiting to see some of the other fantastic art. The exhibition runs until 26th August 2007.

I am pleased to announce that I will definitely be taking part in the WASPS open doors weekend again this year. It was great to meet so many people last year and I will be painting in my studio again this year over both days. The event this year is October 6th and 7th. More details as I have them.

I am delighted to have been invited to take part in an Art Exhibition in Kelvingrove Art Gallery Thursday 30^th August 2007 to raise funds for Breast Cancer charities. This sounds like it will be quite an event and apart from being a great cause will be worth doing just to be able to have my art hanging in Kelvingrove Art Gallery....even if just for one day!

I am not sure yet which piece will be for sale but please mark your diary if you can make it along to this event.

My “Living The Dream” exhibition was launched with a very successful preview evening last night at the fantastic Park Gallery in Glasgow.

The BLOG has been updated with full details and more photos.

Also, I will be taking part in a new art exhibition later this year in Chicago. More details to follow soon.

I am excited about a new venture with Al Arino of Pixart Studios. Al has given me exclusive rights to use his fantastic photography as source material for new oil paintings. These will be available as giclee prints on Al’s website soon. Details to follow.

Recent months have seen some very rewarding professional connections, including, the Park Gallery, Pink Gallery, Christos, Mem Mehmet, Roger Taylor and now working with Al Arino. Thanks you all for your continued support and I look forward to keeping you updated with more news soon.

Also, today, I was interviewed and interviewed about my art and my thoughts on my work over the past few years. It was an interesting experience and I hope to have the video of the interview available for you to view here in the forthcoming weeks.

Things are hotting up with just over one week to go until my solo art exhibition at Glasgow’s Park Gallery.

This is the most interest I have had to date before a show with 30% of art pieces already sold in advance of the preview evening.

My exhibition follows Rolf Harris’ in April and I am excited about exhibiting some of the new work which is being previewed in the Current section of the Galleries area of the website right now.

I have just signed a contract with Caxton Press for the inclusion of three of my pieces of art to be included in the forthcoming book “Diana In Art”. I am delighted to have been included in this and it has been a pleasure to work with Mem Mehmet, Author of the outstanding “Madonna In Art”.

The book is being released this year to coincide with what would have been Princess Diana’s 46th birthday.

The Park Gallery, one of Glasgow’s premier galleries approached me recently. I am very flattered and impressed by the level of advertising which is currently appearing.
