Different Strokes..

I am working on several pieces at the moment and I thought I would try something different today. It’s a sketch in paint of my daughter which I used various techniques from my past, including pointillism on. We will see how it turns out.

I start a new course tomorrow at the Homeopathic hospital, based on the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zin. I am really looking forward to it as I have been getting acquainted with different ways of thinking/eating/breathing...you name it over the past year. The thing is, learning these new things changes my art. I didn’t notice it at first but now I am quite aware of how it has influenced my painting.

Smiling and more TV interview

Back in the studio after my break and what a great day. I am working on a portrait which has been commissioned and the subject is smiling. It has to be the most infectious thing but I am in a fantastic mood working on something where someone is smiling back at you all the time.

It’s scary sometimes taking a week off when you are self employed but it is also amazing how things just seem to fall into place. Yesterday I was offered a very exciting exhibition in January (more details as I get confirmation) and today I had confirmation of another exhibition at the newly extended Pink Gallery in Helensburgh. The exhibition runs from November the 2nd.

Back Home!!!!

There have been no updates for a while as I escaped to Barcelona for a weeks break.

Back home now and eager to get back to the studio on Monday.

I am very flattered that Nigel Buckland of Scottish Television has produced an interview with me. 		Monday, October 8th 2007 THANK YOU! · Mood: Relaxed · Music: Silence! A huge “Thank You” to everyone who visited me in my studio over the weekend for the Open Doors event. It was great to meet you all and get feedback and apologies if it took me a while to recognise you from previous meets... the whole thing was a tad overwhelming! Nigel Buckland of the Scottish Media Group pulled out all the stops to get his film from last week online in time for the event. Thanks Nige! Ballet and broken fingers

Today was an amazing day weather-wise. Bad weather doesn’t affect me but today was one of these days when the good weather was really noticeable - especially for October.

I completed my ballerina today. It was really tempting to keep “tidying up” but two other artists in neighbouring studios warned me that I f I did any more to her they would break my fingers!

So, this is how she will stay for her first public airing at the Open Studios on Saturday and Sunday.
